The nearest airport is Jolly Grant, Dehradun, located at a distance of 314 kms. From here, Badrinath can be reached by hiring a cab or on a luxury bus.
By Rail:
The nearest railhead is located in Rishikesh, which is 297 kms away and is connected to major cities like Howrah, Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow. There are two routes to reach Badrinath from Delhi, which are as follows:
Route 1: Delhi-Rishikesh: 287 kms by rail, Rishikesh-Badrinath 297 kms by road.
Route 2: Delhi-Kotdwar: 300 kms by rail, Kotdwar-Badrinath 327 kms by road.
By Road:
One can hire private taxis and other vehicles which are available between Rishikesh and Badrinath. There are State buses available as well, which operate regularly between Delhi and Rishikesh. The distance between Delhi and Rishikesh is 230 kms.
