Food:
Sheermal is a popular dish here in Tirupati. Sheermal is sweet bread, more like a Danish pastry. Tirupati is famous for a lot of sweets, specially the exotic “Luddu” which is given as “Prasada” of the temple. Meals at the temple are popular for rich variety and the sweet rice is a delicacy here. Food is served on traditional banana leaves while you will be seated in long cues. Eating food at Tirupati temple is considered very auspicious.
At lunch, you'll have to wait a little while to be seated. After you give the host your name you'll get a plastic blue buzzer that will go off when your table is ready. It's a fancy feature for a not-so-fancy restaurant, but it helps keeps the crowds moving. And Tirupathi Bhimas is worth the wait.
